LISTING TYPES

What do the different property types mean?
  • Townhouse: a multi-floor home that shares one or two walls with neighbouring units, usually in a row.
  • Apartment: a self-contained unit within a larger building of several units.
  • Detached single-family house: a standalone house on its own plot, not sharing any walls.
  • Condominium: a privately-owned unit in a building or estate where common areas are shared.
  • Multi-family: one building with several separate dwellings, such as a block of flats or rentals on a single compound.
  • Studio: a single open room combining living and sleeping space, with a separate bathroom.
  • Room: a single room let on its own, often sharing a kitchen or bathroom with others.
  • Hostel: student accommodation, often near a campus, with shared or private rooms.
Which type should I choose for my listing?
Pick the type that best matches the building. If a tenant rents a whole standalone house, choose Detached single-family house. If it is one unit inside a bigger building, choose Apartment or Condominium. When in doubt, choose the closest match, you can edit it later.
